The Fund will focus on making co-investments with leading globally recognized institutions, governments, and project developers across environmental projects in renewable energy, water, waste and resource recovery, sustainable food and agriculture, and sustainable forest management in the developing countries of Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
The Fund will use blended financial commitments of philanthropic equity and institutional investor capital while adding unique value by leveraging WOCAN’s 15 years of knowledge and experience as a recognized world leader in gender integration and capacity building for women’s leadership addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation. The global network includes over 1,200 uniquely skilled professionals in gender and agriculture and natural resource management in over 112 countries, with staff and Core Associates in the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The Fund’s organizational footprint is uniquely qualified to its strategy and mission providing a strong deal pipeline with opportunities for capacity building and follow-on investments.
All project investments need to meet the W+™ Standard requirements as well as distribute a portion of the revenue generated by the monetization of W+™ credits to women’s groups in their community, assuring women receive recognition and financial rewards.
